1、
War Dragons, the popular dragon-training mobile adventure from Pocket Gems, is getting a novelisation.

It will be written by Brian Oilu and edited by Michael Rudin, best known in the gaming industry for writing Kevin Spacey led, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, as well as his work on X-Men: Days of Future Past. The book will serve as a prequel to the series.

This isn't the first time a mobile game has received a novel adaption. This includes improvements to value packs, balance tweaks and further improvements to the in-game content.

The book will apparently launch later this year - though they haven't got much time left - and will be a free download on Amazon, Apple and Google.

You can see a preview video of it in action below.

"You get to choose different actions for your characters from decks of cards," writes Rocketcat explaining how it works.

"Your team of adventurers must work together to survive against increasingly numerous and deadly monsters."

That's the gist of the game, at least. 4、A HUNTSMAN, returning with his dogs from the field, fell in by chance with a Fisherman who was bringing home a basket well laden with fish. The Huntsman wished to have the fish, and their owner experienced an equal longing for the contents of the game-bag. They quickly agreed to exchange the produce of their day's sport. Each was so well pleased with his bargain that they made for some time the same exchange day after day. Finally a neighbor said to them, "If you go on in this way, you will soon destroy by frequent use the pleasure of your exchange, and each will again wish to retain the fruits of his own sport."What rounds, what bounds, what course, what stop he makes!"

2、
The Gold Award-winning Retro City Rampage may only be two years old but it's already getting a remake.

Yep, Retro City Rampage: DX comes to Vita (and PS3, PS4) on November 12th in Europe, November 11th in the US.

It'll have cross-buy and cross-save across all three PlayStation platforms. And it'll cost you €7.99 / $9.99 unless you're a PS Plus member, in which case you get 20% off.

The obvious question is why on Earth does Retro City Rampage need a top-to-bottom remake already?

Developer Brian Provinciano has answered this in long-form over on the PlayStation blog. I'll do my best here to summarise what he writes.

As I'm sure you're aware, this week researchers revealed that Intel, ARM, and AMD had discovered gaps in the security system in their central processing units. While there wasn't much information about at the time, Apple confirmed yesterday that both Mac and iOS devices are affected, but they're already working on a patch.

The security flaws, known as Meltdown (rogue data cache load) and Spectre (bounds check bypass), affect a wide range of devices including Mac and iOS products. Though the fault is applicable to nearly all modern devices, Apple has stated that there are no known exploits affecting customers at the moment.

"Since exploiting many of these issues requires a malicious app to be loaded on your Mac or iOS device, we recommend downloading software only from trusted sources such as the App Store," it's suggested on the blog post.

Though it is a concern, Apple has already released mitigations in iOS 11.2, macOS 10.13.2, and tvOS 11.2 to help protect against Meltdown, though Apple Watch isn't affected by this particular flaw.

A guard against Spectre will hopefully be launching for Safari in the next couple of days, so keep your devices updated, including your search engines, and don't download anything you shouldn't be.

Read more right here.
