As I'm sure you know already, GRID Autosport is an excellent example of what can be achieved on mobile. However, Feral Interactive's newest video showed off the game running on the iPhone XS Max and, oo, it's looking buttery.

"Then I'll come. You're likely to be pestered with me at any hour. And I'll be proud to have you drop down and visit me now and then, too. Gin'rally I haven't anyone to talk to but the First Mate, bless his sociable heart. He's a mighty good listener, and has forgot more'n any MacAllister of them all ever knew, but he isn't much of a conversationalist. You're young and I'm old, but our souls are about the same age, I reckon. We both belong to the race that knows Joseph, as Cornelia Bryant would say."

The European Commission has announced that it's going to launch a formal antitrust investigation into whether Google is unfairly bundling its apps on Android.

In fact, it's a little more than that, as there will be three key areas to the investigation.

1. Whether Google is illegally hindering its rivals by requiring or incentivising smartphone and tablet manufacturers to exclusively pre-install Google's own applications or services.

2. Whether Google has prevented those manufacturers from developing and marketing modified and potentially competing versions of Android.

3. And whether Google has illegally hindered the development and market access of rival applications and services by tying or bundling certain Google applications and services on Android devices.

Google has responded to the Commission in order to defend itself.

Regarding Google's partner agreements - which it points out are voluntary - it says there are real benefits, such as the anti-fragmentation agreements. According to Google, these "ensure apps work across all sorts of different Android devices."

Further, Google says that its "app distribution agreements make sure that people get a great 'out of the box' experience with useful apps right there on the home screen."

The Commission's investigation has now started and will be finished whenever it deems it is time.
The Verge

Narcos: Idle Cartel is an upcoming idle clicker from Tilting Point, Gaumont, and developer Big Wolf Games. It's not the first video game adaptation of Netflix's hit American crime show, with the popular Narcos: Cartel Wars still going strong, but it is the first to portray the series' world and its inhabitants in a grumpy, cutesy cartoon fashion.

Seriously, I'm a big fan of just how disgruntled almost everyone looks in the screenshots – all crossed arms and furrowed brows. I get that the production and selling of Class A drugs perhaps isn't the most romantic of lifestyles, but the way in which the game's artists have weaved the show's dour tone into the cutesy cartoon designs is perhaps a little jarring.

The game sees you introduced to the deadly world of cartels after inheriting a questionable family business. You'll gradually be confronted with the difficult choice of whether to keep your hands clean or throw all that out the window and do whatever it takes to survive.

You'll partner with the legendary smuggler El Patrón and work to gradually build your empire from the ground up. As time goes on, your increased production speed will boost your profitability, and you'll be able to train and expand your workforce to create a thriving international cartel.

What's perhaps most interesting about Narcos: Idle Cartel is the way it's structured like a TV show. You can expect episodic gameplay where you'll be meeting new characters, experiencing fresh storylines, and gradually become immersed in the show's world.

If that all sounds like a grand time to you, you'll find Narcos: Idle Cartel available for pre-registration now over on Google Play. It's set to launch for both iOS and Android later in the year. Just look at their sad wee faces and tell me this doesn't look at least a little funny.
Top 25 best puzzle games on Android

Tokyo-based developer Wizcorp has announced Striker Arena for iPad later this year.

It's a violent 3D football game set on a distant planet where ancient tribes (that look a lot like vikings) settle their differences with "Soccer of the Gods".

"Once every ten years, tribes gather in the Striker Arena tournament to battle each other under the authority of their Emperor. Each tribe enlists the bravest and fiercest of their kin to fight for glory," it reads on the Striker Arena website.

You'll be tasked with choosing a side to play or, um, fight for, and then have to try to "crush" your opponent to become the new Emperor.

I'm getting the vibe that this is more of a real-time sports game as opposed to a turn-based one like Blood Bowl. But I could be very wrong on that.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening wherever you are, friends.
